One of the first workforce housing communities on Oahu, Tenney Village once provided homes for those employed by the Ewa Sugar Mill. The homes were constructed between 1923 and 1938 and, along with the rest of the Ewa Sugar Plantation Villages, are on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1998, Pacific Housing Oahu Corporation Tenney Village, a Hawaii single asset nonprofit entity created by Pacific Housing, purchased 35 homes from the City and County of Honolulu and an additional 12 homes in 1999.
Resident Qualifications:
To qualify for residency, applicants earn up to 60% AMI and 80% AMI, adjusted for family size. Priority will be given to Tenants of Record and Remaining Occupants. The option for residents to purchase their rented homes will be offered in the near future.
