Bedroom in Vegan Outdoorsy House

Veg family in South Salt Lake (I-80 and State Street) looking for a third adult housemate in a 4bed/3bath tri-level house. Work trade possible if you are interested in child care and/or household assistant hours. 

Room: Average-sized upstairs bedroom (12’x10’) with north-facing windows, shared bath and spacious closet available. Upstairs full hallway bathroom is shared with one other housemate. 

House: This light-filled, newer/efficient construction house is in remarkable shape (only the one original owner lived in it for its first 21 years). I bought it in 2019, repainted the interior, upgraded the dishwasher and washer/dryer, and I added a projector/screen, raised bed, extra attic insulation and solar panels. We keep the house very clean and uncluttered. There are three floors, a backyard with a full patio dining set, and front porch w/seating, so everyone can be spread out and have space. Furnished guest room and gardening opportunities are part of the package. Conscientious (of our neighbors) street parking is always available.

House Vibe: Friendly, reasonably quiet, communicative, grown up, independent, environmentally conscious, considerate. Kitchen is vegan (even if you aren't)-- no animal food products in the kitchen or other shared areas of the house please. 

Neighborhood: Our neighbors are super multicultural– Tibetan, Bhutanese, Indian, African-American, White and more. We’re on the same block as a new community playground/fitness park and established community/senior center. It’s one mile to Sugarhouse and walking/biking distance to restaurants, gyms, groceries, public transit and other errands. Freeway access is stellar and the Big Cottonwood Canyon Park & Ride, downtown, the airport are all just 15 minutes away.

Housemates: 

Basement: S, I & J: homeowner, snowboard/skier, progressive/activist, mom of I and J (18&12 month olds)

Upstairs: A: exchange au pair from South Africa, loves music, art 

*Landlord housemate is a licensed foster parent and occasionally takes care of other kids on a short term basis. ALL housemates must be able to pass a background check and have childhood immunization records as required by the Department of Child and Family Services. No smoking, drugs, or behavior that would endanger little ones. 

$650/month plus $100 for utilities and internet. Month-to-month agreement since fit is the most important.
