Located near the heart of downtown, Jane's Place is a residential and nonprofit multi-use complex owned by the Chaffee Housing Authority and a legacy project honoring the vision of the late Jane Whitmer. The Jane's Place Apartments includes 13 modern all electric and energy efficient homes less than 1 mile from downtown Salida and less than 0.5 mile from Marvin Park, Sands Lake, and the Arkansas River.

Apartments feature open floor plans, natural light, mountain views, laminate floors, tiled bathtubs, solid surface counters, induction range and stainless steel appliances, and a shared on-site laundry facility. No dishwashers. The common areas feature an onsite coffee shop, community courtyard, pollinator friendly landscaping, and a small child's playhouse.

Ground floor apartments are Type C visitable for wheelchair access and have sliding glass doors that open to shared back patios. Partially furnished with a new apartment sleeper sofa and a side table.
All utilities (water, sewer, waste) included except electric, which is paid by the tenant. Fiber internet is included for all tenants. Sorry, no pets are allowed.

Jane's Place was designed to encourage walking and biking around town with limited on-site parking. A parking permit is provided to all tenants for 12 first come, first serve parking spaces on-site. Street parking is available after spaces are full. Mountain Valley Transit offers a shuttle stop in front of the property. Covered bike parking as well as a few community bikes available for share.
