To qualify for an affordable rate apartment, your Household income cannot exceed 2023 HUD Maximum Annual Income Limits at 80% of SMI which is: 1-person household: $74,080; 2-person household: $84,640.

Requires a Credit check, a minimum 680 FICO score,a Landlord Reference, an Employment Verification, a Background Check, No Evictions, and other standard qualifications required for an apartment rental.

You can request an Affordable Rate Application form via email at [email protected] or by calling the office at 860-772-2253 and leaving your Full Name and Mailing Address and an Affordable Rate Application will be mailed to you. There is an ADDITIONAL standard rental application for the Credit and Background Check that is sent after the Affordable Rate Application has been received. . There is a $50.00/per applicant application fee.

Completed Affordable Rate Applications that preliminarily meet income eligibility will be considered in the order received by the Office. Please be advised, the qualification process for an Affordable Rate Application can take several weeks as 3rd-party verifications are required.
